One of our expertise here at BASS Medical Group is orthopedics. Our sports medicine physicians are trained to care for the overall health of athletes. Meanwhile, our orthopedic surgeons can provide surgical care for a variety of sports-related injuries. This can be anything from a torn ACL to a shoulder replacement.

At BASS,we currently have seven physicians who specialize in sports medicine, orthopedic surgery, or both. Our physicians are board certified and are qualified to diagnose,manage, and treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions including:

·  Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

·  Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

·  Hand Fractures

·  Ligaments

·  Meniscus

·  Shoulder Pain

Treatment may include:

  • Anti-inflammatory medication (over-the-counter and prescription)
  • Interventional pain management, such as injections and nerve blocks
  • Physical and occupational therapy
  • Immobilization
  • Bracing
  • Activity modification

You don’t need to be a professional athlete to benefit from the expertise of our orthopedic team. Our staff can treat everything from little league injuries to those incurred during intramural adult sports. We offer comprehensive care, meaning we can help with the prevention of injuries, diagnosis, treatment, and even recovery. Are you experiencing shin splints while training for a 5k? Not sure what gear to use? Thinking about suddenly joining a CrossFit gym to lose some weight? Our staff can counsel you on the best way to ease into exercise and avoid injury.

At BASS, we currently have seven physicians who specialize in sports medicine, orthopedic surgery, or both. Additionally, we have two doctors who are board-certified as an orthopedic sports medicine doctors. This is an additional certification an orthopedic surgeon may earn. To receive accreditation, an orthopedic sports medicine doctor must complete a fellowship, pass a test, and submit case files showing their experience. In total, between their undergraduate studies, medical school, residency, and fellowship, orthopedic sports medicine doctors usually have at least 14 years of training.
