About

Dr. Virginia Lieu is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon who cares deeply about helping people navigate the aftermath of a traumatic event that destabilizes their lives, with a passion for restoring a person’s function through a patient-centered approach. She specializes in complex orthopaedic fractures with an emphasis on complex pelvis and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, and treatment of polytraumatized patients.

Dr. Lieu received her Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Public Health and Microbial Biology from UC Berkeley. She obtained her medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She then finished her internship and residency training at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program. She then completed additional training in complex trauma and fracture care with the Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons of Northern California in Carmichael, California.
In her free time, Dr. Lieu enjoys spending time with her husband and son and exploring new restaurants in the Bay Area. Her hobbies include singing, playing video games, and lifting weights.
