About
Monica is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her Master of Science degree from UC Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition from UC Davis. Before becoming a NP, Monica spent 10 years working in the hospital setting as an acute care nurse in cardiothoracic-surgical stepdown units, cardiac step-down units, and throughout the hospital as a float pool nurse. As a NP, she has worked in primary care in the community-clinic setting with a focus on adult health and prenatal care. Monica’s goal in healthcare is to help equip patients with the tools and knowledge to be well. She has a focus on prevention of disease through healthy diet, exercise, stress-reduction, routine care, and timely screenings.
A fun fact is that Monica has provided nursing care in 6 different countries and is passionate about improving healthcare access globally and locally.
