Michael Sung

Dr. Sung was born and raised in San Francisco. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed his residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. He returned to the Bay Area to complete a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in 2020. He specializes in laparoscopic and robotic general surgery. 

Outside of work, Dr. Sung is an avid runner. He also enjoys cooking, hiking and spending time with his family.

Dr. Sung has privileges at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland and Berkeley, St. Rose Hospital in Hayward and Eden Hospital in Castro Valley.
