About
Brenda is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife who is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to women across the lifespan. She is a San Francisco native and a first-generation college graduate.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Public Health from the University of San Francisco as a Horatio Alger Scholar. She later completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Georgetown University, where she trained as both a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife.
Brenda brings over eight years of experience in labor and delivery and obstetric critical care transport nursing at Stanford Children’s Health. She has cared for high-risk patients and contributed to quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing maternal morbidity and improving surgical outcomes. Her work was recognized with several awards, including the Stanford Nightingale Award and Sigma Theta Tau for excellence in evidence-based practice and research.
She pursued midwifery to provide a more holistic, relationship-centered approach to care, blending medical expertise with support for physiological and low-risk birth. She is passionate about community health, preventive care, and the role of nutrition as a foundation for wellness.
Outside of her clinical work, Brenda enjoys cooking, strength training, and exploring the connection between food, wellness, and overall health. She volunteers and provides basic nutrition and culinary education to low-income communities and pregnant individuals in San Francisco.
Brenda is committed to supporting women through all stages of life with a focus on education, advocacy, and thoughtful, individualized care. She strives to create a supportive and welcoming environment where patients feel heard, informed, and empowered in their care.
