About
Dr. Ran S. Kim is a board-certified colorectal surgeon with extensive training and experience in both traditional and advanced surgical techniques. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Kim completed his internship and residency in general surgery across several prestigious institutions, including Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, and Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. He went on to complete fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at Lehigh Valley University Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and has been actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Kim has also served as President of the Northern California Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at John Muir Medical Center in Concord, California.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kim has contributed to the advancement of surgical care by training surgeons nationwide in laparoscopic and robotic techniques for colon and rectal procedures.
Dr. Kim now practices independently at U Wellness Surgical, where he continues to provide comprehensive, patient-centered colorectal care using both traditional and minimally invasive approaches.
