What is Breast Surgical Oncology?

Breast surgical oncology is a specialized field of cancer surgery focused on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast cancer and other breast diseases. Breast surgical oncologists are experts in procedures that remove cancer while preserving healthy tissue whenever possible. At BASS Medical Group and the Gregory Rhodes MD Cancer Center, our breast surgical oncology team works closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, imaging specialists, and nurse navigators to provide coordinated care throughout diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Our goal is to deliver personalized, evidence-based treatment while supporting each patient physically and emotionally through every stage of care.
