Raymond M. Stephens, MD
Dr. Ray Stephens is originally from the San Francisco Bay area. He completed college at the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in physiology with honors in 1974. Afterward, he attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego. He completed a medical internship at the University of Michigan in 1979 and a neurology residency at the University of California, San Diego in 1982. He has been practicing medicine at the Neurology Medical Group of Diablo Valley since 1982 and currently serves as director of clinical research.
Dr. Stephens is board certified in:
- EEG by The American Board of Qualification in Electroencephalography
- Neurology and vascular neurology by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- EMG and neuromuscular disease by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine
He maintains membership with the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is currently co-director of the Stroke Program at John Muir Health’s Neurosciences Institute and maintains a special interest in stroke and vascular disease.
