Dr. Joyce Lu is a California native who is thrilled to be serving the people of her home state as a vascular surgeon. Originally from Cupertino, she attended UCLA before moving to Washington D.C. to perform basic science research at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Lu obtained her medical degree from Albany Medical College where the longstanding tradition of its strong vascular surgery program captivated her desire to serve a patient population with strong needs and challenging medical issues.
Dr. Lu is a graduate of the Spectrum Health Vascular Surgery Residency Program in Grand Rapids, MI where she was trained to treat the entire continuum of vascular issues. Whether using endovascular technologies or an open surgical approach, Dr. Lu believes in expertly performing the procedure that is best for the patient’s needs and desires via a collaboratively therapeutic relationship.
Dr. Lu believes that vascular disease is multi-faceted and best approached from a multi-disciplinary perspective. She is looking forward to working with patients and other physicians to improve the care of our Central Valley community.
