Dr. Ruddy has been involved in sleep disorders medicine since completing his fellowship in Sleep Disorders Medicine at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, California in 1987.
He is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency in Denver Colorado. Prior to joining the California Center for Sleep Disorders, Dr. Ruddy has held faculty positions at New York University and the University of Colorado medical centers.
For the past eight years, he has been contributing leadership to The Center for Sleep and Wake Disorders, a large free-standing sleep center in the Washington D.C. area. He is board-certified in both Sleep Disorders Medicine and Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ruddy’s main interest has been providing excellent patient care. He is actively involved in the analysis of sleep recordings. Dr. Ruddy has a special interest in sleep-related breathing disorders, circadian rhythm disorders, parasomnias, and sleep disorders associated with other medical conditions.
