My name is Kathy I made my first appointment in March of 2017 with Dr. Chin. I was 304 pounds at my first weigh-in. Dr. Chin explained to me how I was a great candidate for the sleeve surgery and that we could get it done in three months. He also identified a venous issue in my left leg which was causing discoloration and improper blood flow to/from the foot, to my surprise after years of hearing "I don't know" from other physicians Dr. Chin easily corrected the issue. My surgery day was July 18, 2017. The day before surgery, I had a check-in appointment with Dr. Chin. I had a lot of different emotions going on and I was a real mess. I'll be honest, the first six months after surgery was a learning process, mentally and emotionally. Within 2 years the weight had melted off of me.
Today, May 23, 2022, I just turned 50 in October, I am 5 years 10 months post-op and I am a size 4/6 & 125lbs for the first time in my life. I'm no longer borderline diabetic or taking blood pressure medications. My goal now is to just maintain this weight forever and I'm confident that I can. So for those of us daydreaming about changing ourselves and waking up in a different healthy body, "I AM LIVING THAT DREAM!!" Dr. Chin has made this possible for me and so much more. The pure enjoyment I feel in being physically able to just complete day-to-day tasks is simply amazing.
